Old Sketchbooks

In the process of updating the website, I've scanned some sketchbooks that are on the older end and thus won't make it on to the website. These excerpts are from a sketchbook I carried around between 3/25/08 and 5/29/08

Enter The Sea Beast

Another project I've been considering for a while now is the Sea Beast.(more on that later) Today I purchased the flotation and propulsion elements, now to build the beast! Oh, and of course learn the rules and regulations of boat safety. I once got a boating ticket for a violation of rule 658A (towing an aquaplane device without an observer) so I am naturally a bit paranoid of the aqua fuzz.

Animation Spinners

This is a distraction that has eaten up a couple hours: I got to thinking about those super ghetto rims that continue to spin when a car is at a stop and realized that using technology from 1832 one could create rims that are animated. This is a slight variation of the phenakistoscope, the predecessor of the zoetrope. Built out of super cheap materials, the design basically works. I think the inclusion of some washers between the boards, heavier materials, and maybe some counterbalancing would produce even better results... But I'm on to being distracted by other things now.

Paper

I've been considering paper as a building material lately, here's a work in progress.

Website Updating

I'm posting this because I hate updating my website which should be obvious to anyone who has been to it recently. changes are coming soon I promise. In fact, I'm posting this just to put off the impending lack of fun just a bit longer. Get a last glance before it's gone: pwilliamsart.com

axeslide

Some sequences for a mini film I'm working on with my brother. I will likely need to reshoot all of these for various reasons.
