Blurbs

Last week was the opening of a show at the Chapman Guggenheim Gallery, It is a very diverse show and a pretty interesting one at that, I have a piece and tons of friends in it. Unfortunately I had to miss the opening because of some va-cay time, but Examiner.com and the OC Art Blog have really good coverage, check it out! Below is the digital catalog for the show, complete with very artsy sounding text.

portriat

I think I forgot to post this last summer when the paint was still fresh. I posed for friend and fellow artist Bradford Salamon for a couple hours at the festival of arts in Laguna Beach, and this awesome little painting came out of it. I think he made me look more badass/sensitive/better looking than i am in real life. Word out on the street is that a photo of me posing made it on the brochure for this year's festival.

Phone Clean

Dumping old photos off of my phone, here's a couple keepers: A zombie t-shirt concept from one of my classes this year, and a great installation piece from the Culver City Art Walk this year, wish I knew the artist's name.

Walmart

What is more surprising, the fact that this product exists, or that enough people want it that it's sold at Walmart?

Studio in progress

It's doubtful that these are going to be interesting to anyone else, but here are a couple shots from early April of my garage slowly turning into an insulated, drywalled, respectable looking studio. We've been working feverishly on and off since December to make the new/old house more live-able, part of the deal I struck was that I would work on the rest of the house before getting lost in improvements to the garage. I have been working in there for a couple weeks now on a project for the HBAC and I totally love the space. I am still working with less than perfect furniture, I figured, live with it for a while, figure out what I really need and want, but none the less, it is an extremely comfortable space to work in. I'll post some shots sooner or later of the studio with my junk in it.
